It was 27 degrees today. And in what could be the most inappropriate choice of food ever, Su-Lin and I met up for lunch at Soho’s new Korean joint, Bibimbap.
Who the hell eats a hot dolsot bibimbap on such a warm day? Oh wait, we do.
Well, it turned out to be fun anyway. Be warned that when you go there, they will take a polaroid of you. And then make you colour it in with none other than a MIFFY pen.

That’s kind of hilariously odd. I thought polaroid film was super expensive too, since they don’t make it anymore…
Was the bibimbap good?
Yeahhhhhhhh – look at all our stars – yeah, stars. π I like your chili swirls; didn’t see that during our lunch!
diva: I don’t know man, the weather was so warm Su-Lin and I sat there eating our bibimbaps and SWEATING LOL π
Lizzie: I thought so too which I the only reason I don’t have a polaroid camera cos I LOVE them! But you should check it out, they have a whole WALL of hundreds of photos of people who’ve eaten there. Go find our pic! All in all the bibimbap was ok. I still like Koba’s better, but this isn’t bad for a quick fix.
Su-Lin: STARS! Yes, I snuck the swirlie in while you were doing your speed-photographing π
Lizzie: It was a Fuji Instax Mini camera.
Following your post my friends and I ate there last night – awesome food! Thanks for posting.
I’m glad you liked it! Have you ever tried Koba, which is about 5 mins away? That’s my fave Korean in London π
Oooh – I’ll check it out soon! I start droolling at the mere mention of kimchi!
Will have to check out bibimbap. I frequent Koba and Ran (now Ssam) when I need my Korean fix. I’m half Korean and grew up eating kimchee for breakfast but with my teeny London fridge I spare the other refrigerated inhabitants and go out for the stuff.
What happened to the 27 degrees out?!
I love love LOVE Koba! It’s pricier than most, but is still my favourite Korean in London π
And I don’t know what happened to 27 degrees π
Hey,
I just went to Bibimbap last night and it was great! I’ve eaten at Koba before and Catty is totally right, it is more expensive there and much more sophisticated. Bibimbap is really fun and well-priced and the boolgogi bibimbap I had was delicious! Both the waiting staff were great, very helpful and the photo was a nice surprise (even if I looked really bad!!!).
I’m definitely going to go back soon!
I’m glad you agree with me π Bibimbap is great for a quick fix but Koba is more like a proper meal, right? I’d go back too π
