This was my lunch last Friday. Verdict? It’s ok, not the best banh mi I’ve had, but it does well to satiate a weekday craving.

The avocado smoothie was scrumptious though!

I’ve been told I must must MUST check out Banh Mi 11 at Broadway Market. And I promise, I WILL.

9 Thoughts on “bite sized: grilled pork banh mi @ Banh Mi Bay

  1. Broadway market banh mi is excellent! try their iced coffee too.

  2. Avocado smoothie… yuuum! I saw these pork buns in Cabra, but didn’t get to try one. Looks so delicious though!

  3. That banh mi looks pretty poor, I must say. Banh Mi 11 and Panda Panda in Deptford look infinitely better.

  4. vix & lizzie: oh, I SO have to try Banh Mi 11 @ Broadway Market don’t I. Need to make plans pronto.

Maria: avocado smoothies are the best. Lots of Viet places in Oz also do jackfruit smoothies *nom* and Cabra… BEST place to get Viet food in Sydney!

  5. Ok – do I’m going here tomorrow when you’ll happily ensconced working from home. Humph. What I want to know, as I am a Banh Mi virgin, is this – do they do that rice floury bread – it’s what I keep hearing about and I want to try it out.

    • Ah very good very good ๐Ÿ™‚ Well when I went they offered me white, brown or Vietnamese bread and of course I chose Vietnamese bread… which I think is what you’re talking about. However some others went a few days before me and were not offered this choice so I’m not sure if it’s a new(ish) thing or random by the day! Good luck!

  6. Banh Mi 11 is amazing. The sandwich is the best I’ve had in London and the girls who run it are great. They have a lot of different options and do lovely Vietnamese iced coffee! I’m not free the next three Saturdays (oy) but maybe on the 24th we could meet at Broadway for a banh mi?

    • Yeah i have GOT to try Banh Mi 11! A friend of mine wants to go too and suggested the 17th but I’ll let you know if that falls through, we can do 24th! ๐Ÿ™‚

I tried a banh mi from Panda Panda in Deptford the other week and in my opinion its one of my top favourites in London. I’ve tried several banh mis in London such as banh mi 11, cafe bay, caphe house but Panda Panda definately hit the spot!
