Warning: don’t let the corn fritters fool you. This blog post is not about food. Instead, you get a healthy portion of geekdom. Enjoy! I don’t think I’ve been this geeked-out in a while. Yesterday I – by my own complete free will – went along to the MCM Expo, otherwise known as London’s Comic Convention, otherwise known as Where People Dress Up As Their Favourite Comic/Cartoon/Movie Characters. .
I don’t celebrate Halloween. Don’t let that jack-o-lantern there fool you even for a minute. He’s not really grinning. He’s grimacing. And you know why he’s grimacing? Because about five minutes after this photo was taken, he was chopped up into teensy weensy little bits and put on the boil. Wow, I guess Halloween is gruesome. .
City Caphê just opened in the city, around the corner from Bank. That makes two awesome new Asian places near my work! Things are surely looking up for winter. *squeeeeeeeeeeeee* .
Once in a little while, there emerges a restaurant so painfully appealing that a mere glance at its menu induces a profound alteration in your saliva glands, rapidly causing them to produce colossal amounts of drool. The overflow of drool can be quickly averted with intense lip licking or if that is simply not enough, a diversion by way of a simple cough, bringing your napkin to your mouth to hopefully absorb most of the fluid that is threatening to spill down your front, rendering you socially uncool for all of eternity. Which is a really long time. .
So it appears that I’ve fallen a tiny bit behind on my posting, because yes, for a control freak like myself, a week in the behind is a lot in the behind. I had grandiose plans to catch up on my blogging over the weekend but instead, I went and learned a new word. .
This time last week, I was reeling from the after effects of having consumed one too many chocolate desserts at Green & Black’s launch of their new cookbook, ‘Ultimate’. This time this week, I’m sharing the LOVE! It’s FRIDAY! and out of the kindness of my own heart, I’m giving away some G&B goodies and a copy of their new scrumptious cookbook – a book that will no doubt whip you into the chocolate mistress (or master) of your kitchen. Or boudoir. Whatever tickles your fancy .
