City Caphê just opened in the city, around the corner from Bank. That makes two awesome new Asian places near my work! Things are surely looking up for winter.

*squeeeeeeeeeeeee*

So far I’ve only tried the traditional pork banh mi. It’s better than Banh Mi Bay. But yes I know I know, I still have to try Banh Mi 11.

They also do pho and bun and rice paper rolls and salads, so you know I’ll be back!

7 Thoughts on “bite sized: banh mi @ City Caphê

  1. I could just jump into that photo and take a bite Catty! 😛

  2. OH this is quite near my work! I haven’t been yet but I will. Thanks Catty!

  3. Lorraine: Ah, lucky I already took that bite for you 😉

jenny: Yeah check it out, they do pho as well, which I’m thinking will be awesome in the midst of winter!

I love Asian food. Preferrably Chinese. Living in America, there are MANY fine
eateries. But four stand out in my own experience. There was Ho King Lo’s in
Chicago (Cicero) in 1969. And my favorite of all was a beloved eatery in Santa
Barbara called The China Castle. The third was also in Santa Barbara, started by
a chef from The China Castle. It was called The Mandarin Palace. And the fourth
was The Mandarin Touch in Solvang,California. They serve only American eats by
day. The good stuff starts at 5:00 p.m. I do know that China Castle closed. The
    others might still be open.

  5. OOOO. if only i’d tried this before I left. I say that, but one of my uncles married a Vietnamese. So maybe I should just hop round and visit her for food. LOL. x

    Hey Cat,

Let me know when you’re next going to City Caphe. I’m surprised I missed you. I went there 3 times last week!
