This time last week, I was reeling from the after effects of having consumed one too many chocolate desserts at Green & Black’s launch of their new cookbook, ‘Ultimate’.

and…Β Chocolate Iced Mille Feuilles… which I am so going to make!

Oh, my word, Catty! What a sweet deal. I like what they do for you. They are
generous. I’ll bet that book has brilliant recipes.
The last couple of gallery receptions I brought dark chocolate cakes to, three women lamented that they can’t eat chocolate after 4:00 p.m. or else it keeps them
up all night. Heck, I’m up all night anyway. ( Creeping geezerism. ) I felt sorry for
them. But I do have to bewitch them with chocolate and coffee-flavored sweets to
plant seeds for my business. Many of us use food to push our coffee. I will only
offer the best. I adore the taster process when they slow down the chew and utter
a humyum and roll their eyeballs and lick their fingers,….. then steal seconds when
they think no one is watching. They don’t forget my food, whether sweet or savory.
I am curious about mooncakes. So many different kinds. Are they as good as they look? Can you create a decadent chocolate mooncake? Never heard of one
in chocolate. Wikipedia has a very good write up on the cakes. The visuals wet
    the appetite for more.

    • Hi Linda! I’m sure your food is just as delicious as your coffee πŸ™‚ where is your business? As for mooncakes, I don’t think I’ve ever come across a chocolate one either, and I don’t see why someone shouldn’t try!

  23. Oh I am jealous! I love the first G&B cook book, although my sister cooks from it much more than I do which would leave me with a dilemma were I to win. Do I selfishly keep the book for myself or let her have it as an extra Christmas present.

I’m sorry to say I suspect it would be the former but it may be that I end up buying her a copy of the new book either way!

  24. I’ve been eyeing the first G&B cookbook for bloody ages and somehow never got round to getting it! BUT DEAR ME…u tease me with this competition. Hope i win!! teehee. x

  25. That fudge cake has made me WANT that book! And the cake!! Everything looks delicious and I’d love to win the book.
Thanks for the heads up re the job at Green and Blacks – am off to check it out now.

  27. Ooooo! So much G&B news. Would love to win a cookbook, have used the first one on many delicious occasions.

May have to apply for the taste panel. I work for a sex toy company, if I added chocolate taster to my CV I think I would never have to worry about party conversation again!

  28. Love. Chocolate. I’m game.

  29. Maybe wife will make some of these delicious and decadent for me to eat! Yum!

  30. Hey, I read your post about the Hummingbird Bakery Cookbook.
I’m not sure whether to buy the book or not
because i read reviews about the book
some people says the recipe doesnt work.
    what do you think ?
    i’m a beginner in baking.
you think i should buy or not the book ?

    • Hi Nina, I had heard all sorts of bad things about the Hummingbird Cookbook too, like people complaining that the recipes or amounts of ingredients were wrong. I have made quite a number of things out of the cookbook and I haven’t had ANY trouble with the ingredients and amounts at all… I was also a beginner when I started using it! πŸ™‚
