It’s Sunday. Autumn has arrived in a shroud of gloom and wetness. The End is clearly nigh but it’s ok, there’s one thing which still brightens my day. What could that be?

Dim sum at Pearl Liang. That’s what.

These photos were actually taken a couple of weeks ago but lately the weather has been more dim sum inclined than ever. I can’t imagine anything better than a steaming hot prawn and chive dumpling on a cold wet day, can you?

Anyway, you lucky things get a break from my endless waffling today with this offer of a photo post! Enjoy!

Cool logo for a Chinese restaurant, no?

Beautiful (but heavy!) cast iron tea pots

Barbecued pork puff

Lobster noodles

Paper wrap sesame prawn rolls

Bean pastry with prawn in abalone sauce

Prawn and chive dumplings

Wasabi prawn dumplings

Glutinous rice with meat

Pork shu mai

Deep fried custard bun

Mango pudding

Tapioca with yam and coconut milk

Sweet black sesame balls

Everything was absolutely delicious, but my highlights from the meal? The wasabi prawn dumplings (with a very decent wasabi punch in the face), lobster noodles (ex Mandarin Kitchen chef, I hear) and the deep fried custard buns OMGSOSINFUL.

Those custard buns are as fine looking dessert as I’ve seen for a while.
