I’ve talked about my co-worker friend Sam a couple of times in the last few posts. She took me for the first and best Philly cheese steak hoagie, and then to the first and best pizza in New York. Well, Sam has truly blasted herself into the realm of best foodie friend EVER because this morning I was woken up by the delivery guy dropping off a humongous parcel of AWESOMENESS!

Sam sent me a care-snack-thank-you package all the way from the States, containing all the brilliant snacks I’d encountered along the way. We have pop-tarts (eating some for breakfast right now), peanut butter m&ms, these awesome peanut butter filled crackers, Velveeta instant mac (well, shells) and cheese, Fiber One “healthier” pop-tarts and the creme de la creme of the parcel, my own jar of CHEEZ WHIZ hellz yeahhhhhhhhh!!!!

And there were also a bunch of mini moon pies! I didn’t know what they were but Sam also included a note about moon pies being from ‘Bama (where the package was sent from). She tells me that Mardi Gras originated from Mobile, Alabama (her home town) and people would throw these around during the parade, yelling out “Bubba want a moon pie?!” and the crowd would yell back “me! me! me!” LOL… I want to be there πŸ™‚

She also said “now that’s Hicksville”, but I can vouch that it ain’t no Hicksville. Hicksville we saw with our own eyes on the way out to Long Island for work one day. Check it out, a real life train station in Hicksville, Long Island:

5 Thoughts on “bite sized: best New Years delivery EVER

  1. zomg i am so jealous of your stash!! argh and now im hungry. happy new year catty!

  2. Moon Pies are the best! We grew up eating them. YUM. They actually started in Chattanooga, TN, but they’re definitely big in AL. Best enjoyed with an RC Cola πŸ˜‰

  3. Oh my–but no Easy Cheese? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Easy_Cheese

And no disgustingly sugary American breakfast cereals like Count Coco Puffs or anything?

And hey, you were close to my old stomping grounds. I’m not from Hicksville, but I’m not from far away either!

Lara: um, ok, you need to clarify its origins with Sam hehe.. I dont care where they are from I’m gonna scoff ’em anyways!

Krista: well, hm, perhaps she’s saving stuff for erm… my NEXT parcel? I can only dream πŸ™‚ LOL you’re from Long Island? Hicksville cracked me up.. though it actually looks half decent. Better than Hauppauge (Brentwood stop) which was where I was working that day!

Yutjangsah: HELLO my Yutjangsah! Don’t you steal my goodies! I’ll steal ’em back off you in Feb πŸ˜‰
