God bless America. If there’s one country we can count on to not only double up on the fried chicken in their burger but hey, why not go all out and get rid of the bread all together – I mean, why not just make the chicken the bread – you know our US buddies would do it. And do it they did.

Check out KFC’s Double Down burger:Β bacon and cheese sandwiched by two pieces of original recipe or grilled chicken breast. No bread. Who needs bread?

God it was delicious, if not a little bit death by sodium. But hey, it’s all good. And with a side of KFC coleslaw which to this day is still the best coleslaw I’ve ever had.

I do love me a bit of junk food now and then… The double down burger became available in the states in April this year and here’s hoping they’re still around in February when I’m next back stateside because I am totally having another one.

No room for food snobbery here!

That looks..er…uh…interesting.:) Haven’t been to KFC in a few years. Sodium
overload? Salt is a flavor enhancer, preserver, and ghost chaser. Everything processed has salt/sodium. Nobody balks when they add it to chocolate and caramel like some gourmet newcomer. Think about it. In my life, they have tried to
scare us against EVERY food. They blame cigarettes for everything from genital warts to second-hand murder while we choke to death on diesel fumes and farts.
The Food Gestapo has managed to steer us away from the truth, that, the cancers
and all began with the flouridation of our water systems, and virus-laced vaccines.
NOT food. No one has ever proved what they tout as statistics. And fat is good for
you. It’s supposed to be 33 1/2% your daily intake. If we continue to believe them,
we will be eating Soilant Green by Monsanto. Soon.

  10. chocolatesuze: hehe me too. Wish it was in Australia and/or UK!

Lucy: Really? I LOVE the coleslaw. Maybe it’s the odd taste that I like. It’s all good πŸ™‚

Melissa: It should be ANYONE’s kinda thing πŸ˜‰

Linda: Oh yes I am aware that there’s sodium in all processed food, so when I cook at home I never add any extra salt! I think our bodies get enough from day to day eating! I say go FAT! πŸ˜€

  11. A breadless sandwich? This is the sort of michelin food that Heston Blumenthal could only dream about..

  12. I can’t believe you ate this! I do love KFC chips though with chicken salt, do they have them with chicken salt in the US?

  13. Hahahahaha – awesome. What is ridiculous is you actually make it look tasty in your picture. Love the choice of food so far, chicken wings, double down, and soon you will break and eat Shake Shack

  14. I actually do enjoy the occasional KFC – I usually toss it with salad leaves to convince myself that it’s “healthy”. πŸ˜›
