Venturing out in Sydney: sausage rolls, Adriano Zumbo, German pubs and a cookie. In a skillet.

Going “home” for holidays is all about r&r. You don’t have anything to see (aside people), there’s nothing pressing to do. You can just chillax. And so from the moment I touched down in Sydney on Monday morning, I did nothing but slugabed around for a solid 48 hours. Oh wait, I lied. I snuck out for a quick dinner at my favourite Mamak, then came straight home to sleep.

After 48 hours of nothingness (and superbly well rested), I started getting a little cabin feverish so thank god I had plans afoot for a fun Wednesday out and about!

Panu at Venice Beach

I very so unkindly brought the London weather to LA last week (sorry y’all) but there was one day when the rain let up and Panu and I headed straight for Venice Beach. Anyway, seeing as I super miss Panu right now (I’m in Sydney, he’s in London) I thought I’d post up my little series of “Panu at Venice Beach” photos.

dining at the Wolvesden, LA style.

Forgive me readers for I have been lazy… it has been five days since my last blog post. But you know what? Time flies when you’re eating having fun! It’s now our final morning in LA’town. Hash House a Go Go: why people get fat in Vegas

Happy Valentine’s Day y’all! Panu and I spent most of today in our rental Dodge Charger, hurtling our way from Vegas to LA. It was a pretty awesome drive… for me anyways because I napped most of the way *heh* We arrived in LA this afternoon, had (another) nap and went out for an impromptu v-day dinner. We ate sushi, sashimi and a tofu salad, a welcome detox from all the crap we ate in Vegas, which started on our very first morning when my friend Sophie took us to Hash House a Go Go.

Momofuku trifecta: Ssäm Bar, Noodle Bar & Milk Bar

It’s 8.30am Saturday morning. We’ve been in Vegas exactly 1.5 days and I’m already feeling 100% like the gargantuan blobs of fat people laboriously dragging themselves up and down the Strip. It’s no wonder though, the food in Vegas is insanely enormous and preeeetty unhealthy. But more about that later.

Wolfgang's Steakhouse NYC: more AC/DC than Mozart

We were looking for a good steakhouse to wile away our Tuesday evening. A couple of people had recommended Wolfgang’s Steakhouse and when I double checked with my go to steak guy back in London, he also suggested Wolfgang’s so it was a no brainer.
