Tick tock, tick tock, time sure is ticking fast! 16 sleeps to go and I’m well into my list of final visits to favourite eats around London. The Ledbury is done, Sushi of Shiori is done, Dinings and Hawksmoor are both lined up for next week. Excitements!

Last night we went to Bocca di Lupo. I first ate there in September last year, a meal to bid Laissez Fare adieu for his move to the Big Apple. I fell utterly in lust with their “ice cream brioche sandwich” – aka the ice cream BURGER – at first sight and have since been back for many a wondrous meal of good Italian fare.

So we were there last night and again the food is delish. But what I love more than the food is the way they structure their menu. Instead of sections listing starters, mains, blah blah, blah blah blah, the menu is divided into types of dishes and for most of their dishes (I think all but maybe three, if my memory serves me right), you can order a small portion or a large portion. Basically, anything can be your starter or your main.

Love.

We had…

linguine with spider crab, tomato & basil

sea bream carpaccio with rosemary oil

parmigiana di melazane – aubergines baked with tomato & mozzarella

home made sausage braised in tomato & rosemary with polenta & pecorino romano

And yes you see correctly, we did not have dessert. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME? Not sure, but all this work and stress from packing sure is playing havoc with my appetite.

Anyway, today I had lunch with Mowie at Mooli’s, another one of my London favourites. I had my very very last mini goat Mooli [big sad face] and I tried yet again to convince the boys to bring their brand to Sydney. They told me I could buy the franchise and don’t laugh it off just yet! If I ever feel the need for a career change, you may just see me dealing out mini Mooli’s down by the wharf. Watch out, Harry’s!

Ok. Enough blogging and back to this packing business. Our boxes are being picked up at 6.30am tomorrow and we are not anywhere near done. Hope y’all have a great weekend! I have on my agenda a ghettofabulous BBQ and afternoon tea at The Ritz with my girlfriends.
