I was a little bit anxious about my visit to Moo Gourmet Burgers. Having been to Moo a couple of times, I’ve always come away with a red, sore mouth, completely beat up from the hard, crusty roll. Maybe I have a tofu mouth! But Panu agrees that the buns we’ve had were tough, as did the random person sitting at the next table during my last visit, complaining about her tough bun.

So yesterday, I psyched up my mouth and together, we made our way into Newtown ready to be abused again.

I ordered myself a classic cheeseburger, side of fries and water (I oh-so-wanted a coke float but decided against the extra calories because lord knows I’m getting plenty of that this week!) and braced myself.

Well, I was pleasantly surprised. The bun this time was soft. Not The-Dip-steamed-bun kind of soft, but my mouth certainly came away unscathed and I actually enjoyed the burger, despite the cheese not being completely melty either – what’s up with non-melty cheese?Β – and the use of “mixed leaf lettuce”. The chips, however, were awesome. Crusty, crunchy, awesomeness.

Damage: Classic cheeseburger = $12. Small chips = $4. Water = $3.50. Totalling $19.50 for the meal. Most expensive so far, but still, Moo is currently top of my list of four.

8 Thoughts on “the Airtasker 10 day Burger Run! Day 4: Moo Gourmet Burgers

  1. I really like Moo…their buns are OK for my tough as nails mouth. And you’re right, their burgers are more pricey, but everything is free-range which does cost a tad more…totally worth it I think. YUM.

  2. I had a pretty bad experience at Moo. The burger wasnt seasoned really well but it might just have been my choice

  3. Miss Piggy: Yeah I think the buns have definitely gotten softer, which is great cos I like the innards of their burgers πŸ™‚

Nic: Try the wagyu beef burger next time, I really liked that when I went the first time.
