Every once in a while, everybody needs to take an emotional day. Toย de-stress, to unwind, to rebalance a life that is far too skewed towards work work work and not nearly towards me. Which is why I started my day today with a 90 minute massage, and now, at 5pm I am Way Too Sleepy to work. Yes, some genius idea. So anyway, I’ll blog instead to stay awake.

(note: 5pm might be home time for most of you but this is basically 9am in my day so like, I’m screwed.)

I generally try to put a tonne of effort into improving my emotional and mental state. Probably more than my physical state, to the absolute dismay of my super healthy other half. Quite often I’ll eat something unhealthy and he’ll look at me oh-so-judgmentally and say “there is zero nutritional value in that.”

And my response is generally, “oh but it makes me SO HAPPY!”

Which is true.

I get so happy when I eat something that I love. It’s actually kind of hard to explain to the general population but you food lovers, you know what I’m talking about, right? The intangible high, the super-charge of endorphins just because before me sits a bowl of gelato, a juicy burger, a big nachos with pulled pork (!!), a good spicy Har Mee, or… a sinful Krispy Kreme donut filled with caramel honey & macadamia nut ice cream.

Yeah, y’all feel me.

Go forth and look after your emotional selves!

holy furrballs, that looks so scrumptious gah; where do I buy this!!?

    • LOL is that a real question? You can get Krispy Kremes from 7/11 and then get some ice cream! Slice the donut in half and fill it with ice cream and you’re set to go!

ohhhhh hahaha, It looks so delish I thought it was made in a place ๐Ÿ˜‰ will definitely try this!

  3. HA! HA! – That donut looks like a do-not. Gilting the lily, eh, Catty? ๐Ÿ˜€

  4. You must’ve felt like a million bucks after that donut. Nice work.

  5. yumm! krisy kremes with icecream is the best!

  6. Miss Piggy: I sure did ๐Ÿ˜€

tastyfoodsnaps: YES, I agree. heated up for 15 secs.

  7. You are officially a GENIUS! Can i please borrow this recipe? You’ve got me craving KKs sooooo badly now hehe thx gosh there’s a 7/11 around my work place and where we live ๐Ÿ™‚

I couldn’t agree with you more that we all need an emotional day! I think it’s time i schedule down time hehe

  8. I feel you, I definitely feel you. Err, in a I-understand-where-you’re-coming-from kind of way of course. You know this already, but food is a wonderful way to impact on how you feel. Chicken soup, a good curry, the extreme joy i get from eating chargrilled lamb with some chilli sauce, HUMMUS, I LOVE HUMMUS. OMG RIB EYE STEAK. Um, ahem. Yes. I feel you all right.

Funnily enough though I don’t tend to get this from sweet stuff – definitely not donuts and ice cream (don;t look at me like that, i can’t help it, honest). Except maybe steamed pudding. But put something meltingly wonderful (or a decent burger) in front of me and, no matter how rubbish I feel, I’ll smile.

  9. GENIUS!
    That is all.

  10. Oh thank goodness!!! When I first saw that picture I thought the donut was stuffed with scrambled eggs! Ice cream makes much more sense. ๐Ÿ˜‰
