Sometimes I go to a restaurant and I don’t post about it because I want to go back and try more things and be able to share more about the place with you. Sometimes it happens. Sometimes it just doesn’t, because every time I go back, I eat the same damn thing.

The Milk Bar by Cafe Ish certainly not the first place this has happened.

It’s those chicken wings! Ai’s freaking awesome chicken wings, to be precise, and freaking awesome they certainly are. So awesome in fact that when we went for breakfast about three weeks ago… yes, I totally ordered the chicken wings for breakfast. I usually get it with crab sauce, but the vinegar & shallot sauce is also pretty amazing.

The Milk Bar also does some pretty great little burgers at great little prices. Cheeseburgers are $5, bacon cheeseburgers are $6 and you can pretty much double up (twice the meat, twice the cheese) or even triple up any burger. You can also add a variety of salad toppings like this cheeseburger with Japanese topping (pickled daikon, carrot, cabbage and wasabi mayo):

I love the Japanese topping. Sometimes (all the time), I order the salad on the side.

So, when we went for breakfast (and “somebody” ate chicken wings), Panu stuck to the breakfast theme and ordered an omelette. A Soft. Shelled. Crab. Omellette. I didn’t say it was pretty, but it tastes a bit good.

And dessert! Josh from The Milk Bar makes some of the most awesome desserts I’ve had, but usually I’m too full to eat anything else. This malteser pie though… I’d heard a lot about it and tried it a couple of weeks ago. And believe me when I say that this would give Momofuku Milk Bar’s crack pie a run for its money and more. It’s not even the maltesers themselves. Those I can leave or take. It’s the innards of the pie – sort of a thick velvety mousse. I just DIE.

The Milk Bar also makes awesome milk shakes! Does this place just keep on giving? Why yes, yes it does. We’re talking miso caramel, rocky road, PB&J type flavours. I had the Orient Express (matcha and adzuki beans). I like to be predictable like that.

So, I guess I’ll see you at The Milk Bar? I think I could have some chicken wings right now…
