It’s Wednesday. Hump day. I’ve been in back to back meetings since lunch time. I have a half hour break at 7.30pm, and then I’m on again until who knows when. I have no time to make dinner, I barely have time to pee (and I so desperately need to!). My stomach starts to grumble and I know this, this is the time to prioritise.

I tell my 6pm meeting that I’ll be five minutes late and… Menulog.

menulog

Sure, Menulog could quite possibly be ‘No.1 for online takeaway’. I mean, who judges this? I don’t know, but what I can vouch for though is that their app is simple, quick and super easy to use. I don’t want to say that if I can use it, you can too (because I do spend 85% of my waking hours on my phone) but I showed my mum the app and guys, if my mum can use it, you definitely can too.

Admittedly my mum’s quite the WhatsApp queen and a one-person photo-collage app super factory. But I digress.

Point is, it’s fast. It’s clear. In the five minutes before my next meeting, I order dinner, I pee and still have two minutes to spare. So here it is, the dummy’s guide to using Menulog:

1. Enter your postcode or suburb.

location

2. Browse what’s available in your area or search by cuisine.

3. Check out the menu. Drool (optional). Order.

4. Review your order. Check out!

5. Done! Muffle your tummy grumbles while you wait for your order.

With over 3500 restaurants to choose from, it becomes a bit of a first world problem trying to choose something. We went for Japanese and ordered a couple of bento boxes from Japan Village, a local restaurant we’ve been meaning to try. Payment was smooth (credit card, no more scrambling for the correct change) and food arrived bang on 7.30pm.

I gobbled. And guzzled. And went back to work. Hump day, you latter side of you is definitely prettier.

It would mean our evenings are less rushed – having to fit in homework and bathing the kids is hard when you have to cook the evening meal as well with no help from the hubby…

That’s easy – i’d order in because it would mean: I wouldn’t need to leave my trackies, could order from the lounge, in front of the heater and with a wine, and I’d only have to get up once to get my scrumptious food I didn’t have to cook!
