You know sometimes when your friend tells you something that their mum’s uncle’s neighbour’s dog told them, you kinda tune out because the information is so far removed from the source that a monkey’s uncle sounds like a funky crumble?
No?
Anyway, when my friend told us that her boyfriend’s colleagues from Japan (ok, so not so far removed) came to London and specifically sought out dinner at Soho Japan, we thought we’d better remember this piece of secondary information because this one, it might actually be valuable.

I do a lot of my thinking in the shower. I think a lot of people do their best thinking while showering. Except for boys, they do theirs in the loo because trust me, you do not want to know what boys are thinking about when they are showering.
Anyway.
I was thinking the other day. Panu, in all his awesomeness, decided to take me out to dinner at Dinings last Saturday night. I mean, Dinings, guys. It’s one of my favourite restaurants in London and hands-down my favourite Japanese, so y’know, he got brownie points.

Some things in life are just impossible to have too much of. Hugs, for example, I could have all day every day, but that “work” thing, it gets in the way. Japanese food, especially good Japanese food is another example. I could eat that all day every day too, but again work gets in the way.

I love LA. I love LA. I love LA. Where once I thought that if I lived in the United States I would for sure live in NYC, I now think it’s LA, it’s all LA.
For every reason that everyone else seems to not like the place, I love it. I love the flatness, I love the expansiveness (one could read that as expensiveness but heck I live in London ok), I love the urban sprawl.
I love the bleached blonde wanna be starlets (ok I don’t love them per se, but they amuse me), I love that everyone’s an actor, I love the bigness that is LA.

And here I thought my post from the LA trip in October was big. Goes to show how much I know because this post laughs in the face of the old one. It sh*ts all over the old one, and seriously, can you believe this trip was actually shorter?!
I can’t. But it was.
My luggage put on 6kgs while it was there and so that it didn’t feel bad, I stuffed myself full of SoCal culinary goodness and gained like 6kgs myself. Or something like that. I mean, this post doesn’t even cover it all! There was already that dinner at Market, followed by channelling my inner Homer with a pizza & beer dinner.
And there’s also a fabulous dinner at Izaka-ya by Katsu-ya but that one’s gonna get a post of its own.
This post is for all the adhoc eating that I did. And boy did I do a lot. Buckle up!
