Somewhere in the hustle and bustle that was September, London hosted a Design Festival. It would have completely blanked on my radar except for the fact that during this fortnight of avant-garde design, a little Finnish pop-up restaurant also well, “popped up”, and brought to my attention an event called Hel Yes! ~ showcasing Finnish cuisine and design in the most unlikely of places.
WOW it has been competition week in bloggersphere this week! Thanks to American Express, some of us bloggers have been able to give away tickets to awesome events during London Restaurant Festival, hopefully bringing some foodjoy to our readers!
I had two scrumptious giveaways: a dinner at The Criterion Restaurant and even more excitingly, an exclusive invite to a special 10-10-10 event at The Blueprint Cafe, pairing chefs Jeremy Lee with Michael Smith from The Three Chimneys in the Isle of Skye for a fabulous lunch valued at £200.
So with over 30 entries for each competition, I handed the fate of my readers over to random.org…
… and our winners are…
Don’t ever say I don’t love you guys!
Because I love y’all so much (and because I know you want to win a meal to celebrate London Restaurant Festival), American Express and I are offering tickets for my readers to a special Festival Event – the American Express 10-10-10 – worth an amazing £200!
From confit to crème brulee, manuka honey to miso, grouse to gravalax, London’s restaurants offer a delectably diverse range of flavours to tempt all tastes. The London Restaurant Festival (4th-18th October 2010), proudly supported by American Express, is a citywide celebration of eating out designed to encourage Londoners to make more of our rich array of restaurants.
And here’s your chance to be part of the excitement!
It’s Sunday. Autumn has arrived in a shroud of gloom and wetness. The End is clearly nigh but it’s ok, there’s one thing which still brightens my day. What could that be?
Dim sum at Pearl Liang. That’s what.
Some people think the interwebz is stupid. Well, I think they’re stupid because I happen to think that the interwebz rulz not only because I can spend hours trawling through its depths, reading more about Speidi than I really care to know, but seriously, the ability to “be online” has improved my (social) life in more ways than I can remember. Having clocked on to the joys of iRC in my mid-teens, I’ve evolved along the social networking groove, from iRC to mIRC to msn to Friendster to Facebook to blogging and last but definitely not least, my beloved Twitter.
Apparently I zoned out for the year that MySpace was popular. Oops.
