Ramen in salt flavoured pork soup with roast pork, shallots & sesame seeds

I’ve been wanting to go to Ryo’s for a long long long time. But you know, it’s on the other side of the bridge and if there’s one thing I am, it’s lazy. So, really, it’s all my own fault. Two weeks ago, I finally organised a bunch of us to go. We arrived at 1.30pm and lo’ and behold, the rumours were true: not just that there would be a queue but scarily, they would run out of broth. And sure as heck, they ran out of broth.

So this time around, we went at midday. Before midday even. There was still a queue but I’ll be damned if they ran out of broth.

I work from home four days a week. When I tell people this, the most common reaction is to tell me how lucky I am. And then I explain to them that I work every single night to midnight, and often have calls starting again at 6.30am, and except for an hour or so during the day when I sneak off to do some exercise, I am just working. All. The. Time. Then they realise I’m not so lucky.

But I am lucky. Because I get to make my own lunch at home four days a week!

So, despite the fact that I go on and on and on about instagram, I have to admit that I still whole-heartedly love my camera. My little Canon Powershot s90 is a few years old now, but it still takes the best photos that I have on this blog and blows the socks off the iPhone camera in low light. Even though it’s only a point and shoot, it still takes great photos like these – untouched and unfiltered.

OMG unfiltered! The instagram fairy in me just died a little bit.
