I’ve talked about my co-worker friend Sam a couple of times in the last few posts. She took me for the first and best Philly cheese steak hoagie, and then to the first and best pizza in New York. Well, Sam has truly blasted herself into the realm of best foodie friend EVER because this morning I was woken up by the delivery guy dropping off a humongous parcel of AWESOMENESS!
Christmas this year was awesome. Panu and I (and friends Mags and Kirk) travelled out to Harefield (about an hour away from London) to spend the weekend with Mel and Cam, and because they live on a farm (like for realz, with horses and stuff) and it’s no where near the heat of London, snow still covered the grounds and amplified by the fact that I got to spend my weekend with some of my favourite people, everything was utterly magical.
Hi everyone! Welcome back from the depths of the silly season, where I’m sure all your eating would have made me proud. Whatever gluttony was involved, I’m just gonna turn a blind eye (what am I talking about? I’m cheering for you food heroes!) and hope y’all had a priceless time with loved ones.
Merry Christmas everyone! To those of you spending it with friends and family, I wish you a fabulous time at home. For those stranded anywhere because of the snow-pocolypse or for any other reason, believe me, this year in particular, my heart goes out to you. I was *this* close to missing Christmas with my friends, but alas, I’m home and grateful for everything.
To everyone, wherever you are, I hope there’s lots of good food involved!

I’m FINALLY HOME! As y’all probably know, I was stranded in NYC because of the stupid snow (which now that I’m home, I kinda hope it buckets so that I can at least enjoy the fun side of snow) and had to fly out to Vegas just to get back to London in time for Christmas. I know right? Flying 5 hours backwards to go 10 hours forwards. Makes no sense, but I did it.
Apologies for the unconventional post, but right now I’m not going to talk about food. Oh wait, I just had a Momofuku cornflake & marshmallow cookie – so awesome – and ok, that’s it, no more food.
I’m writing this post while flying towards Vegas. Vegas?! Why am I going to Vegas? WELL. You see, it kinda sorta snowed in London over the weekend. And who knew how treacherous them adorable little snowflakes can be!
Anyway, to cut a long story short, my Saturday flight from NYC to London was cancelled. I rebooked for today and last night that flight also cancelled, and I was told the next available seat from NYC to anywhere in London isn’t until Boxing Day. For realz.
There’s no way I’m hanging out in NYC alone and missing Christmas with Panu so I hunted around and found a seat on a flight from Vegas to London for tomorrow. And so I’m on my way to Vegas, baby, and who knows maybe I’ll win some money while I’m there 😉
Thanks for all the support and thoughts on facebook, twitter and email! You guys make me smile 🙂
