Today is my last day in Brisbane! And so it seems appropriate that I share with you one of my favourite places in this entire city: Cold Rock Ice Creamery. They have macadamia nut ice cream. They have cookie dough. They smash it together. LOVE.
There’s always that one dish that you request when you go home to see your parents. One favourite dish that you crave but can’t seem to recreate. For me it’s my mum’s fish curry with okra (and sometimes eggplant, but unfortunately not this time). This was tonight’s dinner!
I LOVE IT.
ps. I just noticed how grubby the plate is… heh, sorry, I guess I just wanted to snap and eat!
I very so unkindly brought the London weather to LA last week (sorry y’all) but there was one day when the rain let up and Panu and I headed straight for Venice Beach. Anyway, seeing as I super miss Panu right now (I’m in Sydney, he’s in London) I thought I’d post up my little series of “Panu at Venice Beach” photos.
Heh, just a bit of fun really 🙂
Gong Xi Fa Chai, my homies! I don’t really know how to begin this post. The only word that comes to mind right now is EPIC, but that would make for a very short post, and rather unlike me to not chatter away, so I’ll try a little harder. So here goes.
Every friendship has a story. Where you met, how you met, why you “gel” and why, after all these years, this person is still particularly special in this minuscule fleck of existence that you call your life. I have a few such people in my little life, one of them is Loreen.
Hi, this is Loreen (with a big bottle of whiskey):
This is my hometown. I grew up in Brisbane, went to school there, my parents still live there, and now the whole city is flooded 🙁 Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock, you will have seen the disaster zone in SE Queensland – mainly Toowoomba and Brisbane – where heavy rainfall has resulted in flash flooding and even more scarily, a dam on the brink of bursting (which would mean more water in the already overloaded Brisbane River).
