It is absolutely a sign of old age when you start finding the music at bars a little too loud, when you frown at queues to get into clubs (and even more so at the outfits in the queues) and definitely when you call it a night well before midnight. Gone are the days of heading out at 11pm, of short dresses and sky high heels, of partying until the sun rose.

You know you’re old when a “big night out” is dinner and drinks and back on the couch before the clock strikes twelve. Yep, that’s my kind of night 😉

All I can say is… I need to go back to Movida during the day, so that I can take prettier photos. I mean, just wait til you see the crappy state of these photos! I’m ashamed. But alas, I’ll take one for the team and post these anyway because blurry or not, you need to know how amazing Sydney’s newest “it” restaurant is and in all honesty, I’d go again during the day. Or at night. Or even during a black out.

I have no life on week nights. Not that it’s by choice; I work every week night (except for Fridays because when the clock strikes 5pm on Friday? I doesn’t become “night”, it becomes “end” and I don’t work weekends). And even if I didn’t work, my idea of life on a week night pretty much constitutes going to get gelato in my pjs. But I digress. Point is, I never go out on week nights, but when an email arrived in my inbox inviting me to a private dinner at BLACK by ezard hosted by chef Teage Ezard himself, what am I supposed to do?

A couple of months ago, I was having dinner with some work friends (actually, we were more than “having dinner”; I was “enlightening” them with the wonders of the Number One Special at Kobe Jones) when conversation kept coming back to Indian food. And bowling. We decided right then and there that our next dinner date would be Indian and bowling but really, who sticks to plans that are made months ago and erm, half drunk?
